How do I get my Solis API key?

SolisCloud API access is switched on per account, on request. You raise a ticket from the SolisCloud app or portal asking for API access (usually answered within 24–48 hours), then go to Service → API Management, press Activate now, and enter the email verification code — your KeyID and KeySecret appear right there. Suntide gives you a ready-to-send request message during setup, and you can explore the product in demo mode while you wait. See the Solis page for the walkthrough.

I have a GivEnergy system. Does Suntide work for me?

Yes. Suntide connects through your GivEnergy API token today (which requires their Premium plan), and the Suntide Link — a small local device — is in development so your monitoring won’t depend on any manufacturer’s cloud or pricing. The GivEnergy page explains the situation fully and honestly.

I don’t have solar — just a battery. Is Suntide for me?

Very much so. Battery-only homes doing tariff arbitrage — charge cheap overnight, carry the expensive evening — are some of the best-earning systems Suntide watches. The product adapts to what you actually have; it never shows you phantom panels.

Do you control my inverter?

Not unless you tell it to. Suntide starts read-only: it observes, scores your configuration, and recommends changes you apply in your manufacturer’s app — then verifies the change actually took effect. Quick Edit, which writes charge windows when you press the button, comes later and is always previewed, confirmed, and checked by reading the schedule back from the inverter.

What does the health check actually look at?

Nine rules, run nightly against your configuration and your data: charge windows against your cheap rate, batteries emptying before the peak ends, clipped export, reserve settings against your goals, deep cycling against a longevity goal, inverter clock drift, and stale data. Each finding is priced at your tariff’s actual rates, with fix steps for your inverter’s own app — and verification from the data that the fix worked.

What if my tariff or supplier isn’t listed?

You can describe any tariff on the 24-hour dial — named periods, prices, standing charge — wherever you live and whatever the currency. Nothing in Suntide requires a supported supplier.

Where is my data stored?

In the EU: AWS eu-west-2 (London). Exporting your data and deleting your account are built-in features, not support tickets. No third-party trackers anywhere.

What does it cost?

Watch is £3.99/month, Optimise is £7.99/month or £79/year, and every plan starts with a 30-day free trial without a card. Every monthly statement shows what Suntide earned you next to what it costs.
